California Painting Western Pioneer Family Oil Original Breastfeeding Framed

On offer skillful oil on Masonite of a pioneer family who have crossed the plains to the West, likely California. In loose gestural strokes, the artist renders a family of three in a moment of pause at journey's end. The mother breastfeeding her child rest against a dismounted saddle, and in the middle ground their only shelter appears to be a partially broken umbrella. We are witness to the earliest moments of settlement.

SIZE: Framed 17"T X 21"W: Image 11.5"T x 15"W

CONDITION: Painting itself is excellent, some losses to frame as shown. Presents extremely well.
