Carl Otto Matthaei seascape framed in original high Arts and Crafts / Mission oak, c. 1910 chromolithograph in iridescent inks
Carl Otto Matthaei, c. 1910, seascape framed in original high Arts and Crafts / Mission oak, chromolithograph in iridescent inks, with both a signature and cipher (possibly of printer or framer?). 27.5” T x 35” W. This gives every appearance of a painting, but is an art print at large scale, created at highest quality. I can find only two others in existence, one of which sold at Rago in a far lesser frame. This is the only example I can find framed in this way, and it survives in far better condition. From a prominent Bristol, RI home, where it lived for many years.
*given the scale of this piece, if ordered from very far away, additional shipping cost may be necessary.
