On offer a pre-WWI Liberty and Company pewter tea set, including a teapot, creamer, and sugar bowl. Refined Edwardian Arts and Crafts style, as Liberty is known for. This is the sort of thing the Bloomsbury Group would have used before founding Omega. This high quality pewter contains no lead. Handle in ebony.

Relating to the markings on a nearly identical set, the following was written:

"Numbers beginning with a '0' and no later that 1550 are thought to be before the Great War of 1914 - 1918. Although it has been suggested that planished ware, like this pair, may well be from after the war.

Tudric ware was Liberty's line of metalwork known as 'poor man's silver' being an inexpensive addition to their line of Arts and Crafts Metalwork which allowed the buyer to purchase items of High Style without experiencing the expense of the "Cymric" Silver line.

This special pewter contained no lead and had a small percentage of sterling silver added, making it both stronger and accepting a high polish."

SIZE: Teapot 9" handle to spout, 4.5" wide, Creamer 2.25" H x 5.25" L, Sugar 2.25" H x 5.5" L

CONDITION: Good, as shown. Characteristic marks and dings throughout, but nothing that markedly detracts -- a rare and complete set.
