Massachusetts State House Oil Painting Boston Modernist Bulfinch Dome Framed
Massachusetts State House Oil Painting Boston Modernist Bulfinch Dome Framed
The painting depicts the Massachusetts State House, on Beacon Hill in Boston. Considered a masterwork of architect Charles Bulfinch, the building features an iconic golden dome that has twice been enlarged. The painting also focused on the equestrian statue in front of the building, depicting General Joseph Hooker, by Daniel Chester French. Vibrant colors and deep textural paint application, almost impasto, throughout. The painting dates to the 1960s through 1970s, but the handsome frame is earlier, likely about 1910.

SHIPPING: On items over a certain amount, this shop is programmed for free shipping. This happens very rarely, but if the real cost of postage to you is wildly above the estimate I may have to charge a modest amount for delivery, which will only reflect the real cost with no markup. Thankfully, this is very seldom the case, and mostly occurs with overseas or West Coast sales. If you'd like me to check in advance, please let me know. Again, this is a rare situation.
