Oil Painting Landscape Norman Kelly Saskatchewan Pool Prairie Elevator Oil on Canvas Train Canada Canadian Western Art Original
On offer artist signed Norman Kelly (1939- ), oil on board depicting a classic prairie scene. The painting perfectly captures the stillness and quiet beauty of the prairie. The painting depicts an iconic prairie elevator of the Saskatchewan Wheat Pool, a co-operative of farmers who sold wheat on the Canadian prairie. Prairie elevators are fast disappearing from the North American landscape. Stunning realist style of painting throughout, reminiscent of Edward Hopper.
Acquired from an estate in Prince Edward Island, Canada. A similar painting by the artist, "Spring - Canada Geese," is held in his own collection and valued at $3,500. Signed N Kelly lower left.
